When conflict arises whether in your organization or your personal life, you can bring harmony and positive resolution to the situation. Keep the following tips in mind whenever conflict threatens the unity and effectiveness of your team.

1. Bring conflict into the open as soon as possible. Don’t wait! Waiting will not solve the problem. It will only make it worse.

2. Approach conflict as an opportunity to strengthen relationships. Even though you would prefer to avoid conflict, quite often, when handled correctly, conflict can become a positive.

3. Seek communication and not frustration. Don’t look to assert your ideas, plan, or process over someone else’s at the cost of their frustration. But instead, look to foster genuine effective communication that allows the positive exchange of ideas. Who knows? The person that you are in conflict with may actually have some great information that can help make the overall situation much better.
